🩸 November is Diabetes Awareness Month 🩸
Did you know - People with diabetes are a higher risk of developing foot problems that can lead to ulcerations and even amputation? 🦶🏽
In England alone, 28 people a day, 10,000+ a year, have a toe, foot or leg amputated and only 50% of patients survive for 2 years after major amputations!
Footscan pressure measurement is a vital component of the care and treatment of diabetic patients for 6 key reasons...
👣 Risk Assessment: Footscan helps to assess the risk of developing foot problems in diabetic individuals, allowing us to identify areas of high pressure and impulse beneath the feet that may be prone to calluses, corns, and ulcerations.
👣 Early Detection: By monitoring foot pressure regularly, we can identify changes in pressure distribution over time. Any abnormalities can indicate emerging problems and trigger early intervention before these issues progress to more serious complications.
👣 Preventative Education: Footscan serves as a valuable tool for educating patients about their foot health. When patients see visual 2D and 3D representations of their foot pressure, they better understand the importance of proper footwear, regular foot checks and foot care routines.
👣 Neuropathy Monitoring: Diabetic neuropathy can lead to a loss of sensation in the feet. Patients with neuropathy may not feel pain or discomfort from excessive pressure or injuries. Footscan can compensate for this lack of sensory feedback, allowing us to identify problems even when patients cannot.
👣 Wound Management: Wounds and ulcers can develop without pain or obvious symptoms due to such neuropathy. Footscan can help to determine pressure reducing strategies that are most effective for specific ulcers and wounds.
👣 Bespoke Orthoses: Footscan analysis can inform the prescription of orthoses to assist with redistributing pressure more evenly across the foot to reduce the risk of developing calluses and ulcers.
By booking in for your annual Footscan assessment as part of diabetes management, we can significantly reduce the risk of ulcerations, infections, and amputations ✅
Your feet, your foundation, your future! 👟

Here we have a client 4 months post Latarjet Shoulder surgery💪🏼. His goal is to get back playing Gaa at a very high level and therefore we must stress the shoulder into various ranges of movement and under a lot of stress.
In this case we are looking for a freezing of the elbow once his hand makes contact with the floor to protect the shoulder from high impact situations.

Another happy client who had been suffering with lower back pain for a number of weeks. 🙌
Mary, like most others waited and hoped the pain would eventually go away with some time and rest.
During the initial assessment we identified where Mary wanted to get back to, and most importantly all the things Mary was unable to do because of her pain experience.
We drafted a treatment plan that was going to get Mary back doing the things she needed to on a daily basis. Each week, we re-assessed and updated her rehabilitation program to ensure Mary progressed to the level of her goals. 🎯
Mary is now back doing all those things she had mentioned to me in the first session and with thoughtless, fearless movement.
A huge well done Mary! 👏
